Is your iPhone running too slowly or has it died? You will probably need a reboot. Reboots are either a hard reset (wipes apps/files and returns phone to default factory settings) or a soft reset (reboot or forced reboot that turns the device off and then on again).
But before I reboot my phone I need to ensure that I backup my personal information and data. To restart my iPhone X/11/12/13 or iPhone SE (2nd generation)/8/7/6 or iPhone SE (1st generation)/5/earlier I google and read the Apple “Restart your iPhone” guide.
To hard reset my iPhone I go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Then I enter the passcode, read the warning, then choose Erase.
To hard reset my iPhone with iTunes I must first enter your passcode on the iPhone. Another method to hard reset my iPhone without iTunes/passcode is using software called “Mobitrix LockAway”. It doesn’t need password or authentication and has a success rate of 99%.
